About me
I'm a Senior Research Fellow at the Operational and Decision Analysis Group at the Department of Informatics and Engineering Systems, Cranfield University, which is a part of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom. [more here]
I've recently returned from sabbatical in Pittsburgh, USA, working as a Senior Research Programmer at Carnegie Mellon University, Robotics Institute, Auton Lab specializing in applying machine learning methods to disease outbreak detection and nuclear threat detection. [a bit more here]
I earned my Ph.D. from School of Information Sciences, University of Pittsburgh. During that time I was a member of the Decision Systems Laboratory (DSL), and I'm one of developers of SMILE/GeNIe software.
My additional research interest is focused on applying various modeling techniques to the crisis and emergency management that started with my past collaboration with the Center for Disaster Management at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, University of Pittsburgh.
More about my personal life can be found on facebook.
